A.D. Ventures announces, via the internet, the first ever public release on video of Edison’s 1910 film version of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein & the 1922 film version of Murnau’s Nosferatu, based on Bram Stoker’s novel Dracula, in a back to back feature celebrating the 200^th anniversary of Mary Shelley’s Birth.

The May 5^th, 1980 American Film Institute’s 10 most important lost films list, showed the 1910 version of Frankenstein to be the oldest film on that list.

Cudahy, October 27, 1997: A.D. Ventures is releasing on video the only known original 35mm Theatrical Print of Thomas Edison’s version of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein for the 200^th year anniversary of it’s creators birth. In 1980 the American Film Institute issued a report in the May 5^th issue of Box Office Magazine which listed the top 10 most important lost films. Mr. Alios Dettlaff, owner of A.D. Ventures, discovered he owned the oldest film on that list. Mr. Dettlaff was honored in 1986 as a film collector & archivist by the Motion Picture Academy of Arts & Sciences. He has been seen on such programs as the Cable News Network, Extra, Entertainment Tonight & many more announcing his plans to release this rare piece of cinema history in the year 1997.

The year 1997 marks the 200th anniversary of Mary Shelley’s birth, the 150^th anniversary of Thomas Edison & Bram Stoker’s birth, the 100^th anniversary of Bram Stoker’s publication of the book Dracula & the 75^th anniversary of Nosferatu’s film release. The 1910 Frankenstein was the first of all Frankenstein movies, the "first" monster movie, the first creation film, the first bionic film, the first horror movie, & the first movie to be publicly banned for being too weird & ungodly. This release will also feature the original music scored by Thomas Edison. The rarity of this film coupled with the proven popularity of this famous monster, Frankenstein, proves this to be a very important release for classic & monster movie lovers all over the world. Mr. Dettlaff has chosen to release this classic movie in a back to back feature with the 1922 version of Nosferatu (Dracula). Mr. Dettlaff has chosen this movie to accompany Frankenstein for several reasons besides the 150^th anniversary of Bram Stoker’s birth. The 1922 Nosferatu was the first Dracula film and Frankenstein & Dracula are two of the most famous monsters ever created in print and in film.
